Bryant announced the release of a new brochure for electrical distributors and their customers that features its tamper-resistant and weather-resistant receptacles.

The eight-page fully illustrated brochure includes coverage of the following Bryant tamper-resistant and weather resistant products:

• Ground Fault Receptacles
• Commercial Grade Receptacles Fashion Series
• Commercial Grade Receptacles Standard Duplex
• Quick-Tech™ Duplex Receptacles
• Tamper-Resistant Receptacles

Bryant’s Tamper-Resistant (TR) receptacles incorporate internal mechanisms to limit access energized internal components. TR receptacles are a mandatory requirement in the 2008 NEC for use in all dwelling units

There are also many other applications where the uses of TR receptacles provide an additional level of electrical safety such as Schools, Pediatric Facilities, Lobbies and Day Care Centers.

The brochure explains that the tamper-resistant code is all about safety. Approximately 2,400 children per year suffer electrical outlet related injuries. The design and use of tamper-resistant receptacles has proven effective in pediatric and hospital installations nationwide. It makes sense to have them in homes as well. The additional cost per device is minimal and well worth it, according to Bryant.
