Bryant® Announces the Launch of a Revolutionary Self-Testing Ground Fault Receptacle

Bryant's new CIRCUITPRO® series ground fault receptacles take a giant leap forward in technological excellence by delivering more than a simple indication of a ground fault condition. These devices actually test themselves every 60 seconds to continually verify they are fully operational and still providing proper ground fault protection. Standard ground fault receptacles call for the user to manually test and reset the receptacle once per month for the life of the device. Most end-users either forget, or neglect to follow this important recommendation. Bryant's new CIRCUITPRO® technology automates this process and removes the need for manual testing. Not only do the devices test themselves, they will quickly notify the user if ground fault protection has been compromised or if a ground fault condition exists.

Status of the Bryant self-test ground fault is communicated via a red and green LED on the face of the device. A solid red LED signals a ground fault condition while a flashing red signals loss of ground fault protection. This flashing red LED cannot be reset and will continue to flash until the device is replaced. The green LED functions as a power indicator and will remain on as long as there is power provided to the receptacle.

Available in commercial grade, hospital grade and blank face, standard features of the Bryant CIRCUITPRO® self testing ground fault receptacles include:

  • Continuous electronic sensing and testing of the ground fault circuit using patented diagnostic software
  • Automatic verification of ground fault protection capability
  • Immediate indication if there is a loss of ground fault protection
  • Convenient manual test and reset capability featuring Bryant's exclusive "whole system test" which tests all electronic and mechanical components by simulating an actual ground fault condition
  • Power indication LED
  • Reverse wire protection
  • Extra large silver alloy contacts
  • High impact chemical resistant housing
  • 10,000 Amp short circuit rating
  • Superior surge withstand capability
  • Conformal coated printed circuit board
  • Fully complies with UL943 changes scheduled to take effect July 1, 2006.
